Step one: Upload your photos

While you’re here, it’s good to have an idea of how you’d like to present your items, what treatments you’d like to add them. It’s best to group like products together; that way you can set your default settings for the group, then either start a new batch or change your settings in between sets of images.

Clip Tip:

Also, keep in mind the placement of the product in the original image. For example, a reflection setting made for a product facing head on to the camera won’t look correct for a product placed at an angle

Step two: Clip your first photo

This step seems self-explanatory, but this is also where you’ll set your default settings for this batch. Once you’re done clipping, make your edits to the photo.

Then when you’re back to the clipping window, click the gear button on the far left and choose “Set All”. This will automatically apply these settings as you’re clipping each following image. You’ll repeat this step when you hit a new batch if you’ve uploaded all at the same time.

Using Fit to Result is a great way to get a consistent fit for each of the images in your batch. Set a default result fit and each new clipped image will automatically have a consistent placement and fit after being clipped.

Step three: Keep clipping!

Now it’s off to the races! If you’ve grouped your images correctly, a similar pattern will be used for multiple images which will put you into a bit of a groove.

If your images are similar in shape, you can copy and paste your marks on following images.

Clip Tip:

You can move around the image on the right-hand side of the screen (the Preview side) without having to switch out of your tool on the left side!

Step three ½: Watch your finished clips

Keep an eye on how each clip turns out with your new defaults and adjust accordingly. We learned while demoing this that, even though some products were virtually identical, the lighting was so vastly different between items that there was no way they could be treated the same. After your last clip in the Bulk Clipping mode, there is not a spot to turn around and review, so it’s best to do so intermittently. After all, it’s faster to make small tweaks along the way than to go back and start over.

Step four: Download time

Once you reach the end of the road, Clipping Magic will bring you directly to the download screen. There your finished images will be sorted into a handy zip file. Here is where If you’ve decided to clip one batch at a time, you’ll circle back to step one.

Clip Tip:

Downloading one batch at a time improves organization by automatically lumping like objects into folders, making listing items a breeze!
